Placentia Library Makes a Break From Anaheim Public Library.

First day patrons can get separate library cards from both Anaheim and
Placentia Libraries.

JUNE 30, 2019
Last day to check out Placentia’s Library of Things (LOTs). They will be available again starting September 14, 2019.


JULY 19, 2019

Last day to request items to be transferred between the Anaheim Library and the Placentia Library District

AUGUST 1, 2019
Last day to check out from the Placentia Library District. Last day Anaheim Library and Placentia Library District cards can be used interchangeably.

QUESTIONS

  1. Will I still be able to use my current library card at both
    Libraries?

    Yes. Library cards for both libraries can be used at all locations including ARTIC through August 1, 2019.
  2. Will I need to get a new library card?
    Yes. Effective August 2, 2019, patrons must have cards for each library to access the resources from the respective libraries.
  3. Can I use Anaheim computers with my Placentia Library card?
    Yes through August 1, 2019. After this date, patrons must have an Anaheim Library card to use computers at Anaheim Library. Placentia Library District computers will not be available until September 14, 2019. Patrons must have a Placentia Library card to use computers at Placentia Library District.
  4. Can I return items to both the Placentia and Anaheim
    Libraries?

    Yes. Library materials can be returned through August 1, 2019. After this date, items must be returned to the owning library.
  5. Can I pick up items at both the Placentia and Anaheim
    Libraries?

    Yes. The last day for pick up at the Placentia Library District or to pick up Placentia materials at Anaheim Libraries is August 1, 2019.
  6. What will happen to the items I have on reserve/hold?
    Our intention is to preserve the reserve/hold lists. We recommend checking your library account to ensure your holds are intact after August 15, 2019.   7. What will happen to my library account and balance?
    No changes will be made to your account. All applicable fines and/or fees for the respective libraries will remain and be handled by the individual library systems.   8. I returned my item(s) during the transition period, how do I
    know it was received?

    Items will be checked in during the transition and closure periods. During the Placentia Library District closure, items can be returned in the bookdrop. Anaheim items returned to the Placentia Library or Placentia items returned to any Anaheim Library branch during the transition and closure periods may have a short delay before the return is reflected on your library account.
  9. When will Placentia Library’s new catalog system be available?
    The new system will be online starting September 14, 2019.
  10. Will I still be able to access e-resources?
    Yes
